Unity Charter School is a tuition-free, public school in Morris Township that offers a unique approach to education for students from Kindergarten to 8th Grade throughout New Jersey. Enrollment is open to all New Jersey residents.

At Unity, we provide quality academic programs that integrate the principles of sustainability with the New Jersey Core Content Curriculum Standards in our courses of study. We strive to develop life-long learners-capable, confident children who are well-prepared academically and have an understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy planet for current and future generations.

    Description: Unity offers interest groups/electives for all students every week on Thursdays during the last period. The sessions typically run in 6-week cycles. The first session begins September 18th and the options are as follows:

    Lower School Interest Groups for kindergarten through 4th grade:
    Outdoor Sports - using new outdoor space to play a variety of team sports
    Run a Mile for Unity - running around either new outdoor space or laps in the front as in past to prepare for the Fun Run fundraiser
    Cooking Sustainably - cooking using locally grown foods- some even from our garden!
    Sustainable Sculptures - using everyday discard materials into art
    Reader's Theater - making books come alive through performances
    Gardening - tending to our school garden and planters both inside and outside of the school

    Description: Hi Parents, We are taking a in the filed trip to Loantaka Book on Tuesday, September 30. We will leave school around 8:30 and return by 11:30. We need parents to chaperone who are willing to get wet and and bit dirty as we will be doing water observations. If you can attend the trip with us, please email me. Know that all chaperones need to take the mandatory HIB training. If you have not, please contact our Assistant to the Business Administrator, Robbin, so you can take the online course.
