An Introduction Letter from Executive Director Connie Sanchez

Executive Director - Connie Sanchez

Dear CommUnity,

It is my pleasure and privilege to join the Unity Charter School CommUnity. I am excited about the upcoming year and the opportunity to work with each of your children as well as you, their families. I wanted to take a brief moment to share with you a little about my thoughts towards education. To me, education is about expanding minds and creating passions. My approach to education takes into account that greatness should not be a grand esoteric unachievable goal. In order to achieve greatness in our students, we need to help them find what they love. When students love what they do, they are happy and achieve success.

What I hope to share with our children is the vision that the universe is a blank canvas, one which they should be inspired to paint. If we empower our students to see education as such, we empower them to take chances and make choices, and the reality is that there is a redemptive value in making choices. If we offer our students a future filled with choices, we bestow upon them a truly great gift and a happy fulfilled future.

As I join the school I feel it is imperative to support the school’s mission of sustainability and the development of the whole child. I also understand that as demands and complexities of teaching children increases, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. I believe that all of us, the school and the community, must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all of our students.

My parents came to this country in 1975 and only had the opportunity to complete the 4th grade. I was the first to graduate high school and I eventually attended Columbia University’s Teachers’ College where I obtained my EdM and later attended Texas A&M for my MBA. I am married and the proud mother of two children. I’ll also share with you something personal about my decision to join Unity Charter School. I joined Unity Charter School because I believed in their mission of sustainability and I believed in their approach to education but most importantly I felt that the people I met had their heart in the right place when it came to the education of children.
Over the next year, I look forward to working closely with you to enhance student experience in both the lower and upper schools and for getting this school and our students the recognition and accolades they rightfully deserve.

Introducción Carta del Director Ejecutivo Connie Sanchez

Director Ejecutivo - Connie Sanchez

Querida comunidad,
